Reihana Waru Bio |
Thinking with the One Mind - Speaking with the One Voice! Reihana's fervent desire is to make DVDs from the Indigenous Peoples of the world. Particularly the New Zealand Maori and the native peoples of Canada and the United States.
The hugely successful BUDA DJI DREAMING was Reihana Waru's very first attempt at film-making.
Before this Reihana owned and operated a lawnmowing and gardening business in Cairns, Australia - tired of physical labouring Reihana decided on a career change...
Global Native Network- Reihana Waru's independent production company
October 2004.... armed with a Powerpoint Presentation and the idea of making a film about the Australian Aboriginal Dreamtime he approached several business people in Cairns who invested money in the film.
First hurdle: Reihana knew absolutely nothing about how to make a film. So over the following two and a half years he bought the software and taught himself how to use it. Wrote the screenplay, developed the storyboards and shotlists, hired the cameras and cameramen, directed the shoots, doubled up as cook and gofer; edited the footage, created and manipulated most of the animations and CGI; wrote the music score; added the sound effects, the post production; the subtitles; designed all the artwork and finished the masters.
You've created your work. ... What do you do with it. Second hurdle Sales, marketing and distribution...
