And BIG! Big ORIGINAL Land. Holding it's Originality, because of it's size?
Going deep, BEING in PLACE, makes for Big Minds and big ideas.
It's Bloody Huge, with Big mountains and a few smaller ones.
And Islands and heaps of RIVER...
Before this we were in Boorloo - Yoorga / Nyoongar Country (Perth) and that is Big.
- it literally takes decades and generations to begin to comprehend.
Perth has "the hill of the spiders" where you can see a long way.

Fed on a diet of tv and weaned on internet fiction. There is an assimilated 'Australia' with no CLUE as to what an "Australian" IS, or what it WAS. Worst of all WHAT IT WAS TRYING TO CREATE - before the change of guard from ENGLAND to US Empire building. (And sabre rattling.)
GRIST FOR THE MILL! The powers that be, seem keen to let the gears of industry - and LAW - grind very very slowly.

B.S: What was she was alluding to? What was she was talking about?
A visionary artist with a broad PERSONAL EXPERIENCE of the world and FOLK - sufficient as to ACTUALLY HAVE a World View. The 70 year old Australian outsider and visionary artist NORMA McCarthy had a bee in her bonnet. As usual. And rightfully so.
Those charged with 'a duty of care didn't 'give a fuck about HER. Not those on a mission of vocation. Certainly not the vastly overworked, underqualified cheque cashers of northern buraucracy.
Meanwhile, apart from the disappointments. Norma DELIGHTED to discover the legitimate, unexpected champions -who did give a fuck, in unexpected quarters. People that did raise her up. Not the Church. Not her family or fellow millionaires, not the fellow owning class farmers and pillars of society.
The thoughtful fellow travellers, turned out to be people she had been taught to fear or at least to disparage. First and foremost Aboriginal people. Yalanji folks encouraged and supported her for years and years and were reciprocated when she was handing out 50 dollar notes - just to see them smile. Japanese fallas. Homeless fallas. Lesbians, and leftists. Irish larrikins. Hooligans. Youth roaming about - all lost in the unfathomable. Haha - you know who you are!
A decade later this observation and conversation about a disappearing 'Australia' makes more and more sense every day and with each passing year.
It pairs up with the practises and priorites of The Business Council of Australia; also with the NO - and the Yes and with tarnished yarns about "ReCOGNITION" and reconciliation. - Except it' turns out that it was actually the "Australian" who needed RECOGNITION and validation.
It is/was the no longer required, working class - who needed to re-examine value and values. Presented stories and presence in the stories. Cultural identity through REPRESENTATIVE CULTURE.
AND NOT in the led around by the nose can't smell the stink of dead ideas- TRUMPETTE Way either! Damn it if that is not a multifaceted conundrum! All the old biddies swooning over America like flies round the compost.
It'd be amusing how commercially driven pseudo culture - feeds the unconscious on a diet as bad as the shit they call food - except that it's NOT. What that IS - is the win win scenario of a machine that doesn't care to take on the subtlety of enlivened senses and sense making. ---------------------------------------

Complexity is fixed at the flick of a switch. The new imported information and technological systems. Structurally. Through how it prioritises EDUCATION and HOW AND WHAT LAWS "WE" WRITE. Theoretically the LAW is appropriate to the CONTEXT.
BUT WE'RE NOT AMERICA - there's two HUNDRED YEARS OF stupid B.S that is utterly irrelevant here. To be fair, Australia's premier visionary and Outsider Artists are more than listening - we're WATCHING. Always.
